Sometimes it is required to change the ip address of servers, and for a Zimbra server this is quite simple. After the change you will have to change the hosts-file of your server. It’s located at:

/etc/hosts

This usually look something like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

10.0.0.0 mail.mydomain.com mail

The part that you will have to update is the 10.0.0.0 address (which will be different on each server) to your new ip address.

After that you want to restart zimbra:

/etc/init.d/zimbra restart

In my datacenter for my company Webcode Multimedia we use Astaro as gateway for routing and firewall for our self and our customers. One of the things I love the most about Astaro is the strong webgui which allows non-network administrators to run enterprise networking

A pain for all sys admins are night work. You never want downtime, and when you do, you want to do this at times where usage of your services are at the lowest. I discovered this great future in the Astaro which allows me to schedule the upgrade and following restart of my installation. One click, and the upgrade and restart will be done while I sleep. Another reason to love Astaro!

And yes, we have monitoring alerting us if something goes wrong and services is not back when they should be.
